Questions about Jewish Spiritual Therapy

What is Jewish Spiritual Therapy?

Jewish Spiritual Therapy is a unique therapeutic approach that combines the timeless wisdom of Torah with proven psychological methods to support emotional, spiritual, and personal healing.

Rather than focusing only on symptoms, it helps uncover the deeper emotional roots of suffering while reconnecting a person with their authentic self, their purpose, and Hashem’s unconditional love.

Its goal is not simply to help you cope, but to support meaningful and lasting inner transformation.

How is it different from traditional therapy?

Traditional therapy often focuses on thoughts, behaviors, relationships, or past experiences.

Jewish Spiritual Therapy addresses these areas as well, but goes further by recognizing that our deepest healing comes through restoring our relationship with the Creator.

Using gentle therapeutic techniques, the work helps release emotional pain, transform limiting beliefs, heal unresolved childhood experiences, and reconnect every part of ourselves with a living experience of Hashem’s Presence and love.

Rather than asking only, “What happened to you?” this approach also asks:

“How can this become an opportunity for healing, growth, and deeper connection?”

Why does experiencing Hashem’s love matter in therapy?

Emotional wounds often leave people feeling alone, unsafe, rejected, or disconnected.

Lasting healing happens not only when painful memories are understood, but when the wounded parts of ourselves begin to experience the security, acceptance, and unconditional love of Hashem in a real and personal way.

This living connection becomes an inner foundation from which fear, shame, resentment, and self-criticism can gradually lose their hold.

Can it help me?

Many people seek Jewish Spiritual Therapy because they struggle with:

  • Anxiety and chronic stress
  • Trauma and painful memories
  • Low self-esteem
  • Fear and insecurity
  • Guilt or shame
  • Self-criticism
  • Relationship difficulties
  • Grief and loss
  • Feeling emotionally or spiritually disconnected
  • Repeating unhealthy life patterns

Even if you have been in therapy before, this approach may help you reach emotional layers that were never fully accessed or resolved.

What happens during a session?

Every session is individualized.

We begin by understanding what is happening in your life today.

Through a state of deep relaxation, you remain fully aware and in complete control while becoming more connected to your inner emotional world.

Together, we gently identify the emotions, beliefs, and inner patterns that may be creating suffering. As these deeper layers emerge, we work with them using psychologically grounded methods while helping them reconnect with the healing experience of Hashem’s Presence and unconditional love.

Many clients describe the experience as peaceful, deeply insightful, and profoundly healing.

Will I be hypnotized?

No.

The deep relaxation used in Jewish Spiritual Therapy is not stage hypnosis.

You remain fully aware, conscious, and able to stop at any moment.

Deep relaxation simply quiets mental noise, making it easier to access emotions, memories, and inner resources that can be difficult to reach through ordinary conversation alone.

Do I have to be religious?

No.

People from many different backgrounds have benefited from this work.

For Jewish clients, therapy is rooted in authentic Torah principles and Jewish spirituality. For those who are not observant or who are simply seeking emotional healing, the work is always conducted with respect for each person’s comfort level, beliefs, and personal boundaries.

Why should I trust this approach?

Jewish Spiritual Therapy was developed by Rabbi Efim Svirsky through decades of clinical experience, teaching, and integrating Torah with respected therapeutic methods.

These methods include hypnotherapy, Gestalt therapy, parts work, inner child work, somatic psychology, and transpersonal psychology.

The central healing principle of this approach is helping individuals experience Hashem’s Presence and unconditional love in a practical and transformative way.

As a certified practitioner personally trained in this method, I combine these principles with professional therapeutic skills to create a safe, compassionate, and individualized healing experience for every client.

Is this only for people in crisis?

Not at all.

Many people come because they want to grow, improve their relationships, deepen their emotional resilience, strengthen their connection with Hashem, or become the healthiest version of themselves.

Healing is not only about overcoming pain. It is also about discovering who you were created to be.

Is this therapy based on Torah?

Yes.

Jewish Spiritual Therapy is deeply rooted in authentic Torah values and Jewish thought while integrating carefully selected therapeutic methods that support emotional healing and personal growth.

The Torah provides the worldview and foundation. Psychology provides practical tools that help those principles become personally experienced rather than only intellectually understood.

Do I have to be Orthodox or highly observant?

No.

You do not need to be Orthodox, or even religious, to benefit from this work.

The only requirement is an openness to exploring emotional healing through a Torah-based perspective.

Every client is met with respect, compassion, and without judgment.

Is Jewish Spiritual Therapy supported by psychology?

Yes.

This approach integrates well-established therapeutic methods, including deep relaxation, parts work, Gestalt techniques, inner child work, somatic awareness, and transpersonal psychology, within a Torah-centered framework.

Rather than replacing psychology, Jewish Spiritual Therapy builds upon it by adding the spiritual dimension of healing.

What if I have already been in therapy?

Many clients come after trying traditional therapy, coaching, or self-help.

Jewish Spiritual Therapy may help people reach emotional patterns that they understand intellectually but have never fully resolved on an emotional level.

By working with the heart and the deeper unconscious, some clients experience breakthroughs they had not reached before.

Is everything I share confidential?

Yes.

Your privacy is treated with the highest level of respect.

Every session is confidential and is intended to provide a safe space where you can speak openly and honestly.

How many sessions will I need?

Every person is different.

Some people experience meaningful changes within a few sessions, while others choose longer-term work to address deeper patterns or continue their personal growth.

After the initial session, we can discuss what may be most beneficial for your individual goals.

Can Jewish Spiritual Therapy be combined with other treatments?

Yes.

Many clients continue working with a physician, psychologist, psychiatrist, or other healthcare provider while participating in Jewish Spiritual Therapy.

This approach is designed to complement, not replace, appropriate medical or mental health care when needed.

What if I do not know why I am struggling?

That is completely okay.

Many people come with only a general feeling that something is not right.

Together, we gently explore the deeper emotional patterns beneath the symptoms and work toward meaningful and lasting healing.
